Jon Nylen and Leesa McNeil are the co-owners of Nylen Photography, Inc.  We are a husband-wife team that have been in business since May 31, 1990.  Jon freelanced for about 10 years prior to incorporating Nylen Photography.  Our main emphasis is producing exquisite senior photography and family portraiture.  In addition, we photograph a limited number of weddings per year and also are available for special occasions.  We love what we do and we believe it shows in the high quality of our work and our many happy and satisfied customers that continue to use us to cover their life's events. 

Jon and Leesa are both college graduates with Jon obtaining his Bachelors Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City and Leesa obtaining her Bachelors Degree from the University of South Dakota, and subsequently receiving her Masters Degree from the University of Denver, School of Law. 

Jon primarily fulfills the duties of photographer and makes our clients look their best with his unique skills, utilizing a software program called Adobe® Photoshop®.  Hence, the title: Portrait Artist.  Leesa fulfills just as integral a role in the business as Jon does, assisting in the camera room easing people into various poses and handling all sales and order fulfillment.  Her easy-going personality and likeable style naturally compliments our business.

Jon and Leesa remain very active in their respective photography careers as well as being members of various organizations including: Loess Hills Audubon Society, Sierra Club, Loess Hills Prairie Alliance, The Nature Conservancy, and Professional Photographers of America.

We believe every day presents new opportunities to capture the emotions and the soulful essence of the clients we work with.  It is truly an honor to be present with our clients during the special times of their lives and capture those events utilizing all the education, experience, skills and techniques that we have acquired during our lifetime.  Jon and Leesa continue to study under the top portrait photographers in the United States on an ongoing basis.
